these are with my gopro (small waterproof PNS that lives in a housing and shoot stills and video). Just wondering if they do anything for any of you guys?

not sure if this is even the right section for these (mods, feel free to move if it's not)?

and I got this go pro to basically prove to myself I don't need/want a housing but it's actually making it worse....

Nice shots, makes me nostalgic for my championship winning days before I got old and creaky :D

I really enjoy these, brings back lots of good memories. Technically they're really nice too. What kind of boat is that? She looks fast, will it plane out downwind? The wake on the 5th shot looks like the boat transitioned to being up on plane, which is a pretty cool capture for a sailing geek like me.

thanks everyone.

it's an open 5.70. Yes we're planing in those shots (when the kite's up). She can plane in around 10kt I'd guess? Depends on the angles. We hit 12.7kt max and 12.1kt sustained that day in ~15kt of wind. Those are SOGs with the tide against us so roughly 1kt slow I'd bet?

Can't be that fast you can still see where you're going, I have memories of having to breathe facing astern to stop drowning :D

yeah, well we run a velocitek, so it's as accurate as GPS gets. ;)

and yeah, I used to sail skiffs, so I know all about "wet" rides. The open is pretty well behaved. It wants you well aft anyway because it planes faster on the flat aft section. That keeps the nose up and out of trouble.
