I always posted in the kids/family and expected comments and critique...I think I will post here now! This is of my friends baby as I explained in the other posting...she had this baby a couple days after her last turned a year old!!

I think the right hand picture is much the better pose and composition.

The key lighting looks like it was properly positioned but there must have also been some significant frontal lighting that washed out the facial shadows almost entirely giving a too flat appearance.
