Well, those look like they'll work. I think both holders still need an adapter ring though.

I personally went with the Lee holder, one 77mm wide angle adapter ring and Hitech filters. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. Also if you get the WA adapter that's all you need. You don't need a normal one and then a wide one.

BTW, your links have http and www showing up twice so the links don't go anywhere unless you delete them.

Edit: forgot to add that I got my filters here http://www.2filter.com/index.htm I've done business with them a couple of times and they are very good. They have a good selection are knowledgable and ship quickly. Their site is a little '1997' though and takes a little work to find stuff.

Those round GNDs are of little use unless you want the ND to cover exactly half the frame. The benefit of the Cokin and Lee rectangular filter systems is that you can slide them up and down to put them right where you want them.

I wasn't saying the Cokins you showed first weren't any good. I'd definately get them over those circular GNDs.

would you use ND grads to get the effects in the above photos or would you use a plain ND

Also, call B&H. Their operators are pro photographers and they have an extensive lineup of filters. They can point you in the right direction fast if you need something before the weekend.

As you are UK based, have a look at this weeks AP before making any choices. They have tested a number of different NDG's.

Interestingly, every one had a colour shift of some kind, mostly blue, but at least one was green.

Sooty if it sounds dumb, but what is AP. Is it Amateur photographer magazine?
