Well, lately, while using my Canon EF 100-300mm F4.5/5.6 USM lens, sometimes after a while of use the light meter will get stuck one notch above the center position in any of the modes except 'M'. It is getting really irritating, and I dont know if it is the body that is defective, or possibly the lens. It only happens after several hundred pictures are run through the camera.

The only way I have found to fix it was actually reset the camera using the 'clear all camera settings' in the menu. I then lose all my custom parameters, and custom functions.

Anyone have any experience with this problem, or have a fix?

I have V. 1.1.0 of the firmware installed

Nevermind, I am an idiot, and found out that all the times this has happened, I have accidently set EC (at least I think.) Time to take more pics, and see if that indeed was the problem or not.

Don't sweat it, friend. I had a moment of panic myself a couple of days ago when I couldn't get the meter to move at all from a -1 position by rotating the rear dial to adjust the aperture, at any mode setting; eventually I noticed that I just hadn't turned the power switch all the way on, so the dial function was actually disabled.

Glad you seem to have figured out what the problem was. (I'm realising more and more as time goes on that, based on first-hand experience, the single biggest contributor to camera malfunction is usually that sloppy nut directly in front of the viewfinder! :D )

Terry
