I wish I knew what you were trying to show us in the first one. It is a nice enough shot, and I can see you added noise and a sepia tint, but it just looks washed out. It looks more like a great drawing of a ho-hum scene than it does a photograph.

The second one is a cool shot, but the noise detracts from the acres of mirrored glass.

That's just my opinion though and we all know what opinions are worth.

Welcome to the forum
I'm sure these pictures are fine it would be nice to see whole image on screen, without scrolling.
How did you manage to get such large images on here.

Try Pekka's guide lines on posting images
The max 800 wide is great to see all on screen

Regards
Martin (Huckaback Photo)

First one is grainy and crooked, rather boring. Second one isn't worth viewing. And you need to post smaller images.

That is a little harsh, where do you get the "Isn't worth viewing" from. I thought I would have a look at some of your pictures to see what you do consider is worth viewing, but I could not find any:confused:.

My thoughts:

1. The grain is terrible. If you were going for an effect or mood, I'm guess I'm just not feeling it. Sorry.

2. I have to agree that the shots, while technically well composed and exposed, are just very boring. Neither scene has any wow or punch to it at all. The second is better than the first, had you gotten more reflections in the glass it would have been great.

3. The colors are disappointing, I'd love to see more saturation, especially in the second one.

Couple of positive comments here.

1) I like what you are trying to do with grain - back when I was trying to be taught we never could afford good film, and sometimes we would process wrong and the grain would blow up on us - but at times it gave really cool effects. Grain can be really distracting but when done properly - but done properly, can be make for a really unique photo.

2) the second one's composition is a great idea. Like someone else stated, if you could reduce the noise and capture some really dramatic reflections, it would really stand out.

Keep it up - and ignore some of the comments here - just like everything there are all kinds of taste - and opinions - that is why there are so many colors!

Cheers!

The first one is SO monochromatic, and the grainy look almost makes me itch. I think the first one is worth viewing for those effects alone. The second one doesn't seem to say anything to me, and I didn't give it a second thought.
