Hello, tomorrow I am photographing a political event. There is a speaker, and a reception at a hotel reception hall. I have an EOS XSI with a Tamron Asphyrical 28-80mm F/3.5-5.6 AF Zoom Lens and I also have a Titanium .45x Wide Angle Lens. I am wondering what would be the best settings to capture great clear images? I know its not terribly detailed and there will be some trial and error involved, but I know I'll need a fast shutter speed but what will be the best color settings...the best f value..etc... thanks!

Hi,
Don't worry about colour settings; shoot RAW with AWB, which will give you some latitude after the event to correct if need be.
If the event is tomorrow and you're asking about which F/ stops to use, I'd suggest it's too late for a crash course. Use ISO800 or 1600 if it's indoors (400 if it's outdoors), stick the camera into P mode, and hope for the best...
I wouldn't set your heart on 'great clear images' this time round.
Do some reading and some experimenting before your next event. This thread is a good start. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=414088)
