It was a damp night at the Speedway. However, slightly better lighting conditions enabled me to shoot with some longer glass for a few of the heats. Here are some of the results:
There was some hotly contested racing...

Cheers PhotosGuy... these speedway boys always seem to dice with danger on the first bend!

I believe these are the most impressive I've seen of your shots, Gmen. Great job on these.

as i was not only anticipating but also expecting, further improvement from the speedway. obviously you got some more light here on this set and it shows as you cannot tell exactly where you were for each of the shots which means you were able to use that longer glass and isolate things much better, catch that action, and in this case, mud ;)
love the eyes on the front running rider in #1 and that shot of the guy lookin down the line at the start, #4, awesome! he looks like hes ready to jump off the bike and start the bloody thing himself...good capture of an intense moment.

These are great. #1 works best for me. #2 is damn close. And the determination on the bosses face is great. You can really tell his emotions from this shot. Good work.

Many thanks Pugdaddy. I'm getting more and more into this speedway malarkey every time I shoot it!

Really appreciate your comments 3oh6... I suppose my style is generally to shoot with longer glass and crop nice and tight, so I was pleased to be able to pull the 300mm out for the first few races. In fact, all these pics were taken with the 300mm at f/2.8.
