I dropped my sto-fen somewhere recently and am looking to buy something that can really diffuse some light :) Looking at forum threads, it seems Lumiquest mini softbox (http://www.lumiquest.com/lq951.htm) or regular softbox (http://www.lumiquest.com/lq925.htm) may be good options, however I am unable to decide.

Would appreciate some feedback on mini (like the fact that it's quite compact) vs. softbox especially from Macro and close-up photography point of view.

Thanks for any opinions/feedback.

Raman- suspect the answer partly depends how your flash is mounted- If on the camera then the larger one would probably be better, if you are using a flash bracket and the end of the flash is nearer to the end of the lens then the smaller one would be fine.

Thanks Brian!

I am hoping to keep my setup light without having to compromise too much on quality :), so would like to mount this directly on the flash. Guess i am going to get the bigger one then - thanks a lot for inputs!

I have both the Softbox and the Mini. Found the Mini too small, much nicer and softer light from the larger Softbox.
