Hi there
I have been before and it is a great show.
If you want crowdline shots then the beach is a good place but if you want pics like these (and most probably much better!)

Then a farmer opens his field on the South-Western side of the bay, it is just where the aircraft pull up from their passes and proves a very good vantage point not available at most shows. It is a bit of a walk from the road but well worth it. If I remember correctly it was £5 per person to be in the field! A bit expensive but well worth it. EX7 0LA should get you there on Google Maps, it is the first large field in the 5 o'clock from the Smugglers Inn.
If you want any more info, give me a shout!:)

Advice already given is absolutely spot on. The field before the seashore. Aviationpictures must have been standing pretty close to me last year.

Hi
The field was quite busy last year but the weather was stunning. It started to fill up around 11am, but there was still plenty of space.

Bit more detail on here, seems we will be without the Typhoon this year - great shame - http://fightercontrol.forumotion.com/airshows-f1/dawlish-airshow-20-8-09-t6553.htm (http://fightercontrol.forumotion.com/airshows-f1/dawlish-airshow-20-8-09-t6553.htm)
Location of hill - http://www.multimap.com/s/w46mHi9c
Not sure on the best parking, as I normally go to the top of the cliff below the Smugglers Pub, but will be joining the merry throng at the top this year... Pub does fill up early as the static display is in the next field...

Ladies & Gents
Once again I cannot stress this enough but the farmer who owns the land on the hill has asked me to ask you all to refrain from going into his field before I get clearance from him that morning. He will have a bull in there and we don't want anyone coming face to face with that bad boy!
I will be at the Smugglers Inn that morning with the latest on the arrivals & displays so as soon as I get clearance, I'll let you know in person.
Seriously, there will be plenty of time to get your pitch before the first arrival so please respect his wishes.
Best Wishes,
Morley Lester

Not a bad day overall, the B of B memorial cancellation was a bit disappointing but seeing the vulcan and the red arrows almost made up for it! photos to followsoon
