Battery grip problem?

My camera with the grip attached basically won't let me know if I have a empty battery. It just dies, the battery meter shows fully charged, and then I have issues with focusing, and then it just says "Busy" so I flipped it off swapped batteries and bam it works again.

I don't know what is going on... It is a Opteka Grip for my XSI

Did check the pins. If they all are fine, then, reinstall and check if the same thing happens.

Yeah I just reinstalled it. Umm can't remember 100% but when I had it installed before I swear there was a gap between the camera and the grip. It was bugging me, but I figured it was because I didn't buy the Canon grip. But when I reinstalled it no more gap.

That sounds like you've cross thread a little bit. Fortunately, you did not force it. Hope it works out.
