OK, I enjoy shooting these. I believe the technical term for this is a flower...:lol:. I won't bore anyone with further details (because I'm not even sure what you would call this color much less what kind of flower it is). I liked it. In fact I found over 100 pictures I liked at the Lilac House in Woodland, Washington today. Not much done other than mild curves, sharp, re-size. Comments, suggestions always wanted. The learning curve is still vertical.

Nice photo, Dave. It looks like some sort of mountain laurel or rhododendron - similar to azaleas.

Nice crop & lighting, though I'd like to see more sharpness in the flower & less in the background. What f-stop was it taken at?

I agree the DOF could have been handled better. The day was quite cloudy when this was taken. The Av was f 8.0 and the Tv was 1/120 so there was definitely room to move the f-stop down. The kit lens was at 55 mm so I could have dropped to 5.6 which would have helped. Thanks for the input.
