Winter Ivy

Ice cream? Well not my kid, but when she has it she is completely lost in her enjoyment of it and blocks out the rest of the world, lol. I am a total beginner in photography in pretty much very aspect you can think of (new to DSLR's as well). I have been reading "Understandng Exposure" and am playing around with aperture for selective focusing. I took this photo tonight and, if nothing else, it can serve to remind you all of the days when these concepts were new & exciting to you :lol:

And here is another picture that I took of her, well on her way to becoming a fatty, last week. It was distractingly OOF. After reading about specular highlights in "Understanding Exposure" I decided to try and PP this to give it a surreal feeling. I know it's probably going to make most of you want to puke...but, holy cow, did it ever make the grandmothers swoon and start begging for prints! ;)
