Throw in an imaginary $ and guess the month and year that the first sub-$1k D-SLR will be unveiled and who will do it.
I am thinking Canon has the best ability to deliver it but they may not have the best motivation since it would take such a nasty bite out of their high-end 35mm sales. They may wait until they're forced to by somebody else.
My Guess: Minolta, Oct 2003. (Canon, a couple weeks later.)
