Hey Readers,

I just received my Canon Rebel XT today!
Here is one of the pictures I took of my cat.

The picture is a little photoshopped, is that cheating?

Here is a picture of my new Rebel XT!

My question to you guys is, now what.? Where should I go and what should I do to take some more nice pictures? Also, I know the Quantaray 70-300mm lense is only decent, not excellent. But I think it's good for amateur and affordable.
Or do you guys think I should return it and get a different lense, I have 30 days.
Any recommended lenses? ( I am on a budget :) )

well no cheating at all. :) there's virtually no picture who doesn't need just a little touch in photoshop or so ( even for cropping ! ;))

Man ! That cat !...The expression is like a "Professional Model Cat"...Seriously it's a very nice picture.

Where do you have to go ? Go wherever you feel man. Go around the house, go to the streets, go wherever you want and TAKE the camera with you. Shoot as much as you can ! And the nice pictures will come ;)

Man...if I had that camera...even with the kit lens ! ;)

Best regards

Nice picture! I think you will have loads of fun with that camera.
Photoshopping isn't cheating. specially when you shoot in RAW, photoshopping will be essential.
I strongly recommend the 17-85 EF-S kit lens.
