Have you seen or have a Blackrapid R Strap? This is the applicable URL http://www.blackrapid.com/video/

I have two of them, one for my 5D Mark II and one for my 1D Mark III, and I love them. I wasn't sure if I was going to like them, but they truly carry the weight much better then a standard strap. I highly recommend them.

I love the R-Strap - I've got my 50D on it, and it's very comfortable even with my 70-200 lens.

Colby, do you carry both cameras at the same time on R-Straps? My 5D is currently on a conventional strap, but that's because I can't picture how to use two R-Straps at the same time without getting tangled up.

I have one RS-4 r-strap. They have the new system for carrying two cameras, which I just might get. I carried my 40D on a smugmug strap and my 5D on the R strap last weekend and had some issues with the buttons getting pressed on the 40D when I had to move stuff around.

I just don't like the old L bracket, really hurts after a while of shooting in portrait mode. That new stub (FastenR-2) looks like it doesn't have much to thread in. Maybe it is just how the picture was taken..

It is very convenient and works well for me when carrying one body, not when mixed with a conventional strap though.

Yeah, I used the L-bracket for one day and gave up. Instead, I took a stretch of an old strap off a defunct Powershot S1IS, made a figure-8 loop attached to the left lug and hooked the R-Strap to it instead:

Ya I shoot with both some times. I either just cross them, making an x on my body or use their Cupler system that attaches both straps together without crossing. I never had any problems with then getting tangled up. A few times I had to re-adjust the strap position when I X-cross them, but that was nothing. My shoulders didn't hurt the other weekend after 8 hours of shooting so they must be doing something right.

I use it with my 5DmkII too.

Here's something i found and used for a while before i got my FastenR2. Works very well, and is very silent because the ConnectR does not come in contact with any other metal parts. Some of you might like it.

Love mine, but just don't like the fact I can't use my tripod unless I disconnect it first.

I think I will order one. The only place I could locate one in Canada is Vistek at $69.95.

For you guys with A-S QR plates that aren't RRS L plates, how do you use your R-straps?

Stuck a clamp on my R-strap, works great with plates or L brackets(yup, that's electrical tape holding the gate closed).

Quite an expensive way, no? Either it's expensive (to get a second clamp) or it's inconvenient if you're using the tripod..

Nope, $39 on their ebay store.

Using a A/S head already.

I just strap it to the left lug like I posted above.

I bought one recently that I attach a gripped 40D to. So far, no complaints. It hangs by my side ready for me to grab and use in a heartbeat.

I bought a R-Strap last Christmas and I love the concept very much, however the hardware supplied with the strap feel quite weak and I replace some parts.

Have a look of the modification I done, enjoy!:)

Just bought the RS-4, what a difference with the 50D + 70-200 2.8. I had the crumpler strap which was perfect with the 17-55 but the 70-200 was becoming a strain on the neck after an hour or so. With the RS-4 I hardly feel the 70-200. Right now I just use the tripod mount until I get my tripod, then I'll use the quick release for the 70-200 and lessen the strain on the tripod mount.

Thinking about the blackrapid rs-5. I have a 40d and the 100-400mm. Any concerns with this combo, weight issues? Has anyone tied it?

I have a Xsi and the 100-400 with the Blackrapid RS-5 and it works great, very comfortable and easy to sling into use. I point the lens toward my back and find it the best way to keep it out of the way, great in crowds.

Another nice feature about the RS-5 is the storage space, I keep my cell phone and extra battery and cards all in the strap with room to spare.

The only disadvantage I've found to the Black Rapid straps occurs in crowd situations. I have had several occasions where small children have not been paying attention and walked right into the hood of my 100-400 or 70-200. The parents are usually pretty good about it and I do try to keep the lens out of the way of low-flying kids...

Does it get in the way of the grip when shooting portrait? I'm thinking of ordering one for the 50D I'm going to get.

i have both the RS-4 and the Double-R Strap. love both but i do have one nit-picky problem with the Double-R Strap. its particularly harder to shoot vertical when using the camera attached to the left strap. otherwise, great product! :D

My R-Strap came in today and after putting it on, I couldn't be happier with it :) I can't wait to actually go out somewhere where I will actually use it, instead of just walking around my house with it ;) :P

i am very interested in the RS-5 too, but i have found many complain about the quality of the Fastener and Connector. Many people say, that their camera fall out of the strap because some part of the Fastener and Connector is broken. Is this now definitly solved by Blackrapid ??

I'm using the RS-5 with ConnectR-2 and FastenR-2 and it seems to work well, hopefully it doesn't snap off. The only issues I have is that the barrel lock on the ConnectR-2 was scratching the camera body, so I shrink wrapped it. Also because the FastenR-2 uses your tripod scoket, it gets in the way when trying to take a vertical shot on a gripped camera.

...The only issues I have is that the barrel lock on the ConnectR-2 was scratching the camera body, so I shrink wrapped it...I was thinking the same of my recently-purchased Sun Sniper (http://www.sun-sniper.de/?L=1&id=sun_sniper_strap0), which uses exactly the same-styled slide-carabiner... . Why didn't any one of these two companies figure this out by now & implement plastic/rubber-covered carabiners or similar...?

This is a problem that Luma-loop owners don't have to concern themselves with, seeing as Luma Labs (http://www.luma-labs.com/products/loop) uses a lanyard instead*... .
*On the other hand, even my pocket-sized Swiss-army knife should manage to go through that lanyard w/o much effort... should the thief be to lazy to un-clip said lanyard from the sling... .

I can't find the "ultimate" sling-pack (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=10125974&postcount=71) and now it looks like I can't find the ultimate sling-strap either, sigh...
