i am having problems with my current moniter. if i look at it on differant angles (im a tall guy with a short desk) the brightness and darkness of an image as well as contrast is affected. will a new moniter fix my problem? or do i just need to figure out the proper viewing angle?

i currently have a TN moniter with a 170 degree viewing angle. now when i look at the screen from differant angles the brightness and contrast as well as other factors change. this makes for a very difficult time editing photos. would an IPS moniter fix my problems? i was looking at this one http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...4&sku=320-7825

You're probably using a TN screen now? Those have not so good viewing angles.

An IPS or PVA screen will be better in that respect, as well as color wise. They are more expensive however.

More info then you probably want to know on LCD screens here (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=2049206&enterthread=y).
