I've been trying to come up with a logo for the business I'm working on starting for quite awhile now. For some reason coming up with designs for myself is harder than doing it for anyone else :)

I finally got something I like a little, and I thought I'd get some feedback from the forum, to help me along.

I wanted something kind of abstract, and at the same time wanted to have it include my initials.

On another note, learning to use illustrator again this past week has been hard, since I haven't used it since high school. Does anyone have any suggestions for good tutorials?

I like the concept and colors. somehow, the scale between font and logo isn't quite right. Can't put a finger on it to explain it to you.

The imaging around the i inside the H (which I really like) looks like camera shake! I'm more a symetrical guy, so that bugs me just a little.

Maybe a third, complementary color. Mid-tone lavender would be a nice contrasting color to add to the exterior of the logo part.

Just some ideas ... didn't say they were good!

Ok, here's an actual idea for you. LOSE the squiggly green stuff around the Hi block. Create the same 'torn edges' on the block as you have in the H i part of the logo. Keep the same angle, but put your "Hartsfield" at the top, "Imaging" along the right side and stack the Photography & Design on the bottom like this:

Photography
& Design

this should help tie together the two elements of the design.

Oh, and there is a font that looks like torn edges, too. Has the look of an old detective novel if you can draw a visual from that description. The logo part of your design is kind of whimsical and the font is very stuffed-shirted. They don't match.
