Hi all!

I've been using a Canon A-1 film SLR for the past 20 years (though only off-and-on in the past 5 years or so). I recently decided to do photography again, this time on digital. I got my 20D and 70-200 F/4L middle of last month, and since then I've been happily shuttering away. The AF needs quite some getting used to though since I've always been used to focusing manually. Below are a couple of shots of Macaws which I took in Singapore....

Thanks Dan! And yeah, you should get that lens; as you may have read in other posts, it's really worth it, IMHO. As for the second pic, well, its the original pic that I posted. Perhaps I should adjust it in Photoshop and see what happens...:)

Nice shots! If you shot is RAW mode, up the exposure a little on the 2nd shot........if JPEG and you have PSCS, use the shadow/highlight tool and you should be able to bring out more detail without adding too much noise. It's funny that you mention getting used to AF......I have the opposite dilema. I just started using a Zeiss 135/3.5 lens (fully manual) on my Canon 1D and I have to get used to not having AF with this particular piece of glass.

My dilemma is, I want that lens but dunno where to get the money. Selling kidney? I thought about it too.
Nice shots Jopox.

Do you think that would be a good excuse to take better moon pictures?
I better put my credit card in the freezer....lol

Hey cfcRebel....maybe we could pitch in and buy it together, we will just ship it back and forth that way we can afford it....LOL

I hate waiting too....

Thanks! I'll keep your advice in mind. And yeah, I really have to get used to the AF, cause the thought process is really different for me. In some respects, I'm having to "relearn" how to take photos with the 20D and AF...:)

between this, and the Tamron 28-75, everything else is just a mystery.

Great image, and enjoy the lens.

Hopefully I will buy a 70-200 L this summer...

I really need it to fix this drooling problem I've developed.

That is definitely true.;) I already put my credit card in my girlfriend's pocket, safer than any ice-cude in the freezer. LOL!

It would work if the shipping charges from Texas to Sarnia is not US$50 per trip. Maybe each of us donates one kidney and go all the way to get the almighty EF 70-200 f/2.8L. LOL!
