HELP!!!

Hey. Im a noob here, and if any of you can help me, that would be great.
I have a school project where i have been using my new camera and now I am going to put the vids over to my mac.

I have connected my HDV 1080i canon camera to my mac, but its not working..
I cant find the camera when I look at the units. what can I do to get my video over?:cry:

However specify the model of your canon camera and the version of the Mac could be useful.

Try using a card reader and see if that works.
