Well, we had a cracking weekend up at Mallory... however, the racing left somethign to be desired... there was far too many incidents at the new chicane [Edwina's] to allow any continuity to the racing, the ambulace was out far too often for it to be enjoyable to anyone but the blood thirsty.

Here's my favourite pic from the day... Glen Richards, bringing it in 2nd in both BSB races for the men in green :D

We were there coutesy of Vivaldi racing, and their two guys in the BSB had a great time, with tristan Palmer leading the BSB pack round Gerrard's bend on the first lap after one of the far too frequent restarts. vivaldi are in their first season at BSB level, so it was a first for one of their bikes to be leading a race at any point... so here is Tristan at the front [sorry for the image quality]:-

Here's a better one of Tristan:-

Finally... a view from further round Edwina's allowed me to try some more interesting shots of the bikes coming through the chicane... Here's Ollie and Aaron for the Vivaldi SuperStock's coming through :-

Finally, a couple of images [not the best quality again i'm afraid], showing the all too frequent events happening at this point on the track:-

That first shot is fantastic. You are right it is no fun watching them race from red flag to red flag. Hope no one was seriously hurt. Sounds like a bad redesign of the track. Thanks for the posts.

Don't know what a cracker is? But if it means something about the shot being fantastic, then a cracker it is!! Awesome work?

Does anyone have a 70-200 2.8 IS that they would like to unload for under a hundred dollars? Of course it needs to be in excellent shape!

thanks for the kind comments :)

I'm glad that people think the pic of Glen is a "cracker"... it's given me a little confidence in my ability to use the camera, now i know it's 'possible' for me to get it just right :D

Taking the camera to the races has taken me a step closer to the racing, i get to see which guys are really gunning for it due to the concentration i'm placing on the guys out there and i've really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately for me, the BSB is up at Oulton Park this weekend [one of my favourites for watching races] but it's jsut a tad too far, and so i'll be out having a play on the bike myself this weekend instead.

PS, all the pics were taken with the 75-300 USM lens.
