Hi guys,
I own a Canon EOS 10d, and would like to purchase a lens for it. I currently have sigma lenses on the camera, but feel that the resulting images are not as sharp as i would like them.
I am looking for a lens with a range of around something like 18 - 80 mm, and would be really grateful if any one reading this has any suggestions as to which one I could get, that could give me real crisp sharpness.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

First, I think you should have posted in Lenses category.
To answer your question, for that range you need at least two lenses. I'll just assume you don't want to spend a fortune for the lenses, so that kind of narrows down the options. My advice is: Canon 17-40L + Tamron 28-75 Xr Di - make sure you get the good copy.

It is easy to feel that you have inferior lenses. In reality, they are not quite as good, but probably not that much different. With really good technique, it might be even difficult to tell them apart - Particularly with digital where you can process the shots to a fair degree.
Please try and post some shots where you think the lens has let them down. You may find it's not that easy to find any.

And also post which lenses you have exactly.
There are 180$ and 1800$ Sigma lenses ...
Best regards,

Have a read of this thread (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=56752), then come back and ask more questions.

Yeah, what lenses you have and how much you want to spend would help. Telling us what camera you have was a good start. Canon make a nice 17-85 but unfortunately its an EF-S so won't fit on your 10D.

So your photos aren't super sharp and you think it's the fault of your lens.
Have you considered other possible causes for the lack of sharpness in your images? It could be your photographing technique, for example you're using too slow shutter speeds or you're not keeping the camera steady enough. Also, with the 10D on default settings, images are less sharp than with compact digital cameras, so if you're used to images from a compact digicam, you might be disappointed at first by the 10D.
Have a look at this thread:
