I need to go back to high school....

But seriously... great pictures. Really soft, but I imagine that was your intention. Would love to see the faces and eyes a little more in focus. Nice effects. What Photoshoping effects did you use?

I like the 1st, 2nd and last. A little too soft for me, but I like the lighting and posing :D

How's this...
Photoshop - just used glow filter..toned it down a little more in this one.

i like them all. the toned down one looks better though, but the one spot on the teeth is blown out and kind of distracting... burn them in and i think it'll be a keeper!

I can't seem to find the 'glow filter'. Please elaborate.

These are wonderfull shots. Your friend and her sister are very attractive. I hope you got to take them to the grad party.

Yes - the toned down one looks great. Can't go too wrong with either though.

OMG!!! I'm torn. As a father of girls I just had the "Where's my shotgun..." reaction to #2. Also the unreasonable reaction of wanting to put locks on the OUTSIDE of all of the girls rooms. Mine aren't that old yet but it's quite scary to think that the eldest is ten and that those kinds of images are not more than six to seven years away!

Then there the ever present letch... Yeah. Girls did look like that when I was in HS. But my predjudiced Western Canadian self goes "Damn! There's some hot newfie girls out there!" ;)

umm... I don't remember having a graduation party that wasn't just a party... That looked like the prom.. except my prom date didn't have legs like that...Damn...

Photoshop
Filter - Distort - Diffuse Glow
(decrease the graininess to zero, then just play with the Glow and Clear amount sliders until you get your desired soft focus.)

Beautiful :D

Maybe a tad too soft for me, but definitely beautiful!

Best regards,
Andy

I really like these. i think the softness fits with these. . . . #3 is nice photo, but i'm not too crazy about the pose. 1&2 are great captures of the joy of graduation. #4 is good photo of a beautiful young lady.

Great job!

hehehe..was waiting for someone to ask that question. Apparently, it's all the rage now to wear a garter with class of 2005-etc, on them. Found it to be a little over the top for me! :)

I like the soft effect. Great smile in #1. That's definitely a bit different than we ever dressed for a party at my HS. As another said, looks more like prom! Thanks for the soft focus filter tip, I'll have to try that out, especially for some shots I'll be taking at my brother in laws wedding come Nov.

how did you get that colour with Susan, its not Black and White??

Its monotone, but her eyes and hair are brown, how did you get that effect?

Well, I guess I must share my secrets! ;) LOL.
A fair bit of post processing, but here goes:
Picture was shot in color. In PS, changed to grayscale mode, which discarded color info. Duplicated original layer and applied a screen at 50% opacity - then merged both layers together. Switched back to RGB to allow for adjusting with color balance. Color Balance Levels: +14, -30, -74 (midtones checked)..thats what gave it a softer B&W feeling, without completly changing to a Sepia-like color balance. Then, finally added a glow filter: Graininess 0, Glow Amount 7 and Clear Amount 17.

Is the girl with the garter getting married or graduating high school? People are in too much of a hurry to grow up. But really nice pictures :)

Man my Visual and Perfoming Arts high school filled with Hott dancer/actor/artist chicks but none of them dressed like that to Grad. Wowzers!
