color on B&W background

Still playing with egrets

Not a good selection, but does the concept work?
background too busy or too dark...?

It's got something of a Superman feel to it, both in the bird's position and posturing, and in that the treatment makes it look cartoonish somehow. High contrast, pasted on look, busy background all contribute to that. Not sure if that's a yes or no to the "does the concept work" question... depends on you. Cheers, Tony

If it were me I would really bring the bg down and make the egret really pop. THis was a very quick edit and you can see the feathers are a touch darker at the tips but you can kind get the idea and I rather like this shot.

I think I would prefer it either all color or all B&W but I still like it.
