Let me start by saying I know that Candid's by definition are not planned and you kind of have to be on your toes and can't "expect" to get certain shots.

I am just getting into wedding photography, learning as a second/candid shooter for a local wedding photographer. My first wedding is coming up soon.

I have done some engagement stuff, but mostly I was event photography (airshow, carshow etc etc). I have a good understanding of angles, lighting, exposure etc. but this is all new to me so any tips would be appreciated.

Are there any typical candid shots that I should position myself for to make sure I get. I sat down and starting brainstorming a list of stuff to look for but only came up with maybe 20-30 different situations to keep my eyes peeled for.

Heres a quick excerpt from the list I made - just a few of the shots to let you know where my head is at:

Location/Setting shots (exterior church, grounds etc - funky angles, cool kinda mood shots)
Ceremony (if possible): Bride & Grooms parents, W/A of the church interior with no people if possible
Post Ceremony (Outside the church): recieving line, ring bearer and flower girl (kinda kids being kids type of idea), someone holding the invitation (closeup on invitation), vehicles with decorations etc., bride/groom kissing, various family
Wedding party shoot (at park) candids of wedding party setting up for shots with interesting angles backgrounds, bride groom walking hand in hand etc.
Reception: decorations, placecards, flowers, candles, centerpieces etc.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any list of candid photos, as by their nature they can't really be planned. If you want a shot list there's plenty of them online, google will find 'em :)
