I've got to admit that when I think of June 6th, that is the weapon that is in my mind.

Thanks. It's a 2.51 million serial Springfield Armory, made sometime in January of 1944. Good possibility it saw action in June of 1944. Note: The rifle pictured is all correct (including the Type II lockbar rear sight) except for an aftermarket barrel and stock (definitely not USGI original wood).

The weapon that won the war. Remember, we were the only army to outfit our standard line troops with a semi-auto rifle and not a bolt-action.
