I rented an Elinchrom Style 1200 RX for the weekend and while I was outside playing around, a gust of wind blew over the stand and the stobe fell on the pavement...YIKES!

The back panel was pushed in a tiny bit, and the power cable port needs to be replaced. Lastly, the back panel goes in and out of functioning depending how it's angled (it works, but it easily will lose contact with the circuit board and needs to be knocked to work again.

I'm super worried how much the rental house will charge for the repair. Any advice on what to do and how much this may run in a repair bill? I hope they don't quote me $600 for something that seems like a simple sauder and power port repair.

Unfortunately, without knowing the extent of the damage and the parts that need to be replaced/repaired, there's no way anyone can give you an estimate. You'd have to send it to an authorized Elinchrom repair center or BogenImaging. The estimate wouldn't cost you anything. You'd have to pay to ship it to them and they'll cover the cost of return shipping even if you don't do the repair. Turnaround time with BogenImaging is generally very fast and labor costs are extremely reasonable.

That's about all I can contribute.

And how do you know it would be " a simple sauder and power port repair"?

Did you get insurance?
