Hello all- First, I want to apologize for making my first post on this site as a question....But ive been lurking on here for a number of weeks and we all have to start somewhere right?

If anyone has a chance, could you please look at this photographers site, Joey Lawrence at http://www.joeyl.com/ and browse to his "people" section. Im very very curious on how he achieves this look. The color depth, and contrast is very impressive. At first I thought it might be a minor use of HDR, but I doubt. I realize the safe answer might be that its a combonition of PS and proper lighting... but is it more one or the other? If its mostly post editing, is there a work flow for it?

Thanks everyone, this site is amazing!

Meant that its under the PERSONAL section: Portraits....

Ive just watched a video of him shooting, and he uses a Phase one 645 and on site lights..... is that the main reason his shots work?

Thanks everyone, this site is amazing!Well I clicked on the link and did not see the section "People" and have no idea what picture you would be asking about. Need a little more info or a better link to what picture your referring to.

Most of Joey's stuff comes down to great lighting and the ability work really well with people. There is PP involved, but it's not as crazy as most would assume. Most of this can be achieved using adjustment layers, blending modes and layer masks.

Yeah, I would also like to get my hands on either Joey's or Adam's DVD. Sometime soon, when the money is flowing that freely :P
