Found a new waterfall today that was so beautiful (to me). Hope this comes across in the photos, taken with the kit lens. First was 1/200 at f 5, the second 1/5 sec at f22. Both had the CPL.
The waterfall is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina.

Another nice shot Stan. Wish I could join you, but my schedule is packed this week.
Try some waterfall photos in the rain today :D :D . I bet the green foliage looks nice with the cloudy skys. Also, you could get some nice water blur because there is less light due to the thick clouds.

Thanks for all the comments. Shot was taken at 18 mm, just enough to get it all in. Would have been reluctant to change lenses where I was, perched on a rock in the middle of the cascade. I did have the 10-22 with me, in the vest that is working out very well for hiking (less weight than the old backpack).

I love these shots. Light is a bit harsh though, maybe a trip back during an overcast day would yield different results. Very pretty as it is though, makes me wish I were dipping my feet there.

BB, you are right on about the weather. While we have been visiting NC, it has been either very bright and sunny or raining. Yesterday was the first chance to shoot some waterfalls in overcast weather, and it really did help. Some of the results are posted in the forum, under Many Mini-waterfalls.
