Business Like but maybe off topic question

I did a search and found nothing.

How do you inventory all your camera gear from lens, camera, memory cards, batteries, to your bags, tripods, shutter release, and anything else that has been bought for your camera business?

I tried several times to use numbers (excel but on a mac) and I just keep getting in a cluster. Don't know what to list first,

anyone have a templet that i can look at?

I don't have a template, but I have to keep a list for insurance. I also use Excel. I have it broken down by category (camera, lenses, media, etc). I have Make, Model, Serial and est. replacement value as my headers. Anytime I buy something new, I merely add it to the spreadsheet.
