Heres the pics i took. as imagined they were nothing special, especially at length. i had to crop just about every pic to see the cars. So some arent as clear/sharp as they should be, but you get the point. Was only there a few hours and saw 2 rounds and took off. Just was kinda lame with no people there and vendors all packed up by 2nd round. so heres a few pics, the rest are in the gallery. Only thing i wish i did was blur the backgrond, it seems i froze everything in nearly every pic. This was teken with my XSi and kit 18-55 lens, UV filter only.

Considering the short lens and the huge distance i think they aren't bad at least it's possible see panoramic views of the event.

thanks, the lens was a huge limiting factor as i was about 700-800ft down track and a good 100 or more from the track. so they were cruisin pretty good by the time they were approaching me.
btw heres the url for the gallery, dont know why it posted like it did before

I have a question, i see for example the alanabifunnycar1952247.jpg on your site.
In such events is there access in the box, as in some series of motorcycle or will you have a pass?

i dont know exactly what your asking, but im guessing your asking about pit access. if so, such events like these you are allowed to walk right up to the pits. most are roped off so you cant enter, but there are a few that arent roped off, but you just have to respect them and stay out cause they are working. ive been to a good 10 drag strips over the midwest U.S. here and all are the same. when you get to non national run events its a lot more laid back and your able to walk freely where ever you please.

I believe that the events in which it is possible photograph, especially from discrete places, are the most interesting.
Which is the name of this race?
Is It type formula and something?

Drag racing, heads up 1000ft (NHRA rule) classes.
the heads up, small tire, stock suspension, 660' and 1320' stuff is my favorite to watch.
heres the jist of it

Dom, you needed a 70-200. That would have been just right. I went to the Friday qualifying session in Baytown this year and I got to walk the pits until I was tired of walking the pits.
Here's a link (http://mtstringer.smugmug.com/Motorsports)to some of my shots.

yes i know, and its on the list of man other things i need. problem is i have too many expensive hobby's, so it makes it hard. i was actually set up to rent a 70-200 IS lens locally but to get it all weekend would have put me back $70 and i was just not in the mood to dump that money not knowing how if i was even certainly going. i will eventually have that lovely lens, but for now im tryin to make due with the kit lens.
