I like the 3 for the expression and the 6 for the action.

I find the other static but I think partly depends on the frog style that have a minor impact respect of the free style.

I prefer the close ups. Good job.

This is a great 1st time series.. I like the tone/highlights of #4.. I like #5 butterfly.. would be better in my opinion if shot directly with swimmer torwards you. #1 I thought was a little funny, not in a bad way but just maybe thought he was treading water/water polo or drowning. Keep up the practicing and post more up =)

Having kids in swimming for 8 years now I remember these years. The small kids often do NOT look like they are swimming and many times look like they are drowning...lol

my cc

1.try to get better facial expressions
2.look for the peak action (its a timing thing you will pick up soon as these are good first timer shots for swimming
3.make sure you adjust the WB in post processing. Shoot a grey card in a few different places around the pool in areas you might be shooting in so you can use one of those to get the correct looking WB later in post processing...
4.get as low to the deck floor as you dare
5.spray and pray, shoot sequences and try all different angles and settings
6.be sure to shoot in manual once you have a good idea of the settings you will need
7.and shoot raw as these usually need alot of PPing to make them look good.

you are way above where i started if these are your first try!

thanks yall... i think I'm going to enjoy shooting these events. i was shooting some girls soccer a few months back and one of the moms asked me if i would like to shoot her swim team. she hasn't seen any of my practice shots yet she more into to the team photo and the individual pose shots they want something fresh something new and i don't have a damn clue...lol but there are 50 kids on this team and Ive got 2 days to come up with something.
jb im shooting with a 30d and a 70-200 2.8 sigma

Much better on the peak action, good facials as well, only thing I would say about these is that they seem a little dark...
