I've posted this on another thread, but I'm really looking for critique on it.
I'm happy with the colour. I wish there was a third dragon boat (I suppose I could add one). What's lacking, what's good?

The large boat makes your third Chris ;) Seriously, the wake more than makes up for a lack of a third....I love the color selection on this.Nice compo...great portrait.

My eye is just drawn to the red lines and the large white boat. The rest of the image is either too busy to focus on (buildings) or too much empty space with two insignifigant specks on the water.

My eye is drawn to the strip of buildings. There's little contrast or colour in there: little to differentiate buildings from each other, the bridge, and more importantly, from the background. Some of the roof tops roughly coincide with the tops of the mountains behind, which looks awkward. And my eye is drawn steeply sideways to the white boat and out of the scene: the most colourful and interesting things are along that edge of the frame, and in general, not complete within the frame. From there there's just too big a jump to the two boats in foreground. I'd say the compositional balance is out.
Cheers, Tony

Funny how we all see things so differently.lol.my eyes were first drawn to the dragonboats.....not insignificant at all to me?
I see the flags on the bridge, adding some color to the stretch.but this is what is looks like! Its a city in the setting sun,,

Thank you very much for the feedback. It's very helpful to see what works and what doesn't. I'm also finding myself enjoying images, and making images, that don't have that mass appeal. I'm not sure whether I'm progressing or regressing :-P

Great Shot! I think you could really do something with the sky. As it is now, it looks a bit flat. You could either try and edit the one you have now with layer masks in photoshop or just completely replace with a more sunfilled, vibrant sunset!
