I guess the title sums up my question.

Jelly feeder like THIS (http://www.backyardbird.com/bco212.html)one. I'd like to hang it near my house, but my kids hate bee's and I don't want to attract them.

I have noticed bees are attracted to anything I put out that is sweet including jelly, oranges and Hummingbird feeders. I have also read that the birds have been known to become trapped in the jar type feeder. I just put my jelly in small bowls or on top of the orange halves I set out.

Oh my GAWD, please, please, do not buy that, do not use it if you did, and ask the store you bought it from to quit selling them. They are Oriole killers. When the jelly level in the jar gets low, they crawl in there to get more and can't get out, dying from exhaustion trying to back out. :(

There was a thread about these things awhile back. It would be hard to take if one of your birds died from something like this. It's really kind of obvious when you see one and think about what could happen. :)
