Is there any good Tone mapping parameters presets to benchmark off? Just trying to compile some info and go with what I like.
Thanks

I think it all depends on the type of look you are going for. Nature, Nightshots and Architecture would all be different.

Checkout " Complete Guide To High Dynamic Range Digital Photography" by Ferrell McCollough. Has loads of great colour examples and settings.

You can save your settings. It makes a .xmp file and you can share it with others with the same version of PM you have.

kinda weird a site hasn't popped up yet with photomatix presets that people share. I guess I haven't really looked either, but you would think it would be popular. Topaz adjust would be another good thing for sharing presets

I save some of my settings, and have gone back and used some on newer shots taken at the same place, and they worked, but not at all as they did when I saved them. Apparently, just a small difference in light or shadow is enough to require large changes. Not sure presets would work in Photomatix. So far, I have pretty much had to start from scratch on each image.

yea, that is true. I have done the same thing, it got me in the ballpark tho, but had to still tweak a bit further. Each picture is unique I guess

I noticed the same thing. The only nice thing is like Wolf said it get you in the ball park then you tweak a bit further.

I agree with the previous posts.
When I used QTPFSGUI I used the presets (Fattal, Mantiuk etc), but since I bought Photomatix, I start from scratch on each image.
I suggest you just keep playing around until you find an effect you like, after all, for me, playing is half of the fun.

With Photomatix, the defaults are in the ballpark. :)
