Looking into buying this as my P&S because I don't want to take my DSLR everywhere ofcourse. Just want to see how well it holds up, mostly want it because of the video capture. I want to stick to Canon but im open to suggestions for other small P&S that may have better video capture. Looking strictly for opinions from owners.

Thanks in advance,
Alfredo

FWIW, I'm very happy with my SD780 IS. The HD video is very good and the pictures are P&S good.

It has been a awesome camera for me. I wanted something real small to carry in my pocket when I don't want to lug around my XTI. I could not be happier with it!

Awesome...seems like it may be a good choice then?! Is the HD video easy to transfer to the computer or can it only be played in HD off the supplied cord and hooked up to an HD tv?

You can hook it up to a HDTV via the supplied cables but I dont think it will display in HD.

check this site for Mini HDMI to HDMI cables I have one and it works fine

I have only watched my videos on my pc, but even that way the video is high quality. As far as transfering to my pc, I prefer to use a card reader instead of cables.
