Trying to decide on compact

I have a nikon D80 but am looking for a compact camera to take with me when I don't want to lug around the bigger camera and lenses.

I like the ability to shoot raw so that is a big plus, I am fine with using the "hack" if need be.

I just am at a loss on what to go for - SD series, A series, G series? IQ is important to me as is shutter lag.

I have been looking at older models - SD 880 ($269 cdn) , A650 ($329 cdn) and G9 (unsure of price).

I realize they won't compare to the DSLR but I do want something with great image and good macro ability is a plus as well.

I shoot the 990 and 900 both with CHDK IQ on both is great the 990 has the same larger image sensor as the G10, I use a belt case and always carry one
