I have not posted in a while, but I need some help, if possible. I have been looking into a tripod for w hile and finally found a good, cheap, begginer one for me. The Dolica AX620B100 is what I think I will go with, but I am trying to find the mininum working height. Because I like macro photography, this is important to me. For some reason, I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet. Has anybody else found the min. working height for this tripod, or has one themselves and can tell me? Thanks in advanced.

hey, I don't know if you found the answer or not, but it is on their website:
http://www.dolica.com/product.php?id=107
Minimum operating height: 18.5
cheers,
I was just looking at this tripod and saw your thread in the search

You can do like I did, since I never extend the center column on my Dolica Proline carbon fiber tripod, I cut the center column off at the bottom of the mount. Now I can shoot ground-level shots easily. I cut the column off because I already have a tripod that has a stronger center column, and I use that tripod if I need more height. Certainly makes getting down on the ground a lot easier with a short center column.
Now if only my body would get that low as easily...

Sorry to bump this, but thanks for everybody who helped me :). Of course I checked all ver, except for Dolica's website :P. Anyway, I have the tripod, and to get close to the ground, I just unscrew the metal hook on the bottom of the center column, turn it upside-down, and re-screw the hook back on. This inverting of the center column turns the camera upside-down, but lets me get very close to the ground. I wonder if that is bad for the camera and/or tripod... Thanks again all, I am very happy with my first tripod (besides my dad's old broken one :P).

I understand that the head on the Dolica AX620B100 tripod can be replaced ... what I haven't been able to find out is what heads the tripod/center column assembly is compatible with, couldn't find any details on Dolica's website.
Any ideas? Have any of you folks w/this tripod used alternative heads?
