Taken late afternoon on April, 29 with Canon S500 - manual, ISO50. The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is a landmark in Boulder, Colorado. Designed by famous architect, I.M. Pei. Low clouds obscure most of Bear Mountain. The two day snow storm has ended - it dumped about 10 inches. Photo cropped in Picture Window Pro 3.5.

I hope it stops snowing before I get there in June. On the other hand, any help relieving the drought is appreciated.

That makes me shiver just looking at it.

Nice picture. I automatically thought that it needed a bit of cropping, but the vast expanse of sky works.

BottomBracket says that the vast expanse of the sky works. It certainly would not had the sky been blue. I think it is successful only because this picture is a monotone study in grays. I had to crop out a foreground fence, trees, and a building. I also wanted to preserve the long downward sweep of the mountain towards the left, to emphasize that NCAR is on top of a tall mesa. That left me with no choice but to include a lot of the gray sky.
