Well, actually my Quaker Parrakeet, named Max. He's got quite a vocabulary and likes to scream a lot. I love parrots, but I've yet to have a quiet one...

Anyway, I was playing with the flash in the house one day. I don't think it came out too bad, especially since that curtain was only a few inches behind his head.

That's a pretty sharp picture! Nice portrait. I used to have a couple parakeets, but what I'd really love to have is a macaw.

Nice Quaker, AKA Monk Parrakeet. BTW, in case anyone was wondering, "parrakeet" is a common term for hookbills from the eastern hemisphere with long tails. Not to be confused with the "American Parakeet" which is a budgerigar. Some species, such as the Alexandrine, can be larger and quite spectacular. I used to raise quakers, I had four pairs. The bonded pairs were a little skittish, but handfed chicks develop into loud, lovable, demanding little personalities. Sorry for the dissertation, just reminiscing. I bet yours is real character.
