Amazingly enough, the sun was still out when I got home from work. I heard some squawking out back - the cardinals were out on Superfeeder. I grabbed the camera and headed outside, but never even made it *near* the porch before they flew off. I may never get a decent pic of one of these cardinals.

So I had to be satisfied with a Chickadee. Oh, well. I'll take it.

Beatiful capture, Scottes! I like the profile shot.

I stalked a cardinal today - he flew, I moved for a clear shot, he moved again. I have a couple of one standing on the feeder from 25 feet, but he's looking pretty small in them.

He's a cute one! Nice :)

I too spent a few hours hunting a Cardinal last weekend.. nothing to show for it.

I think those cardinals like to piss off photographers :) There are many times I see on around the feeder , but every time I get the camera or am taking pics, they go away... hmmm

Nice shot, Scottes ;)

Nice shot, Scott ... I really like chickadees - no "just a" necessary!

I feel your pain with cardinals ... I came oh so close to getting one this afternoon, but he had his back to me and wouldn't turn around (or even turn his head). Bummer.

I'd take a "just a" shot like that any day! You are too modest. Great shot.

So I had to be satisfied with a Chickadee. And a nice shot it is. (If it was easy, everyone would be doing it!) ;-)

Thanks folks.

The cardinals got me again this morning, and I was sneaky, too. I really should have tried Rome last week, as Marie suggested. :-)

Beautiful capture... I've never even seen one of these guys. Nice to see you're back out there. :)

Maybe you should try some two-sided sticky tape on the Superfeeder for the Cardinals. ;-)

I love it Scottes! It looks like a Robert Bateman painting! Great picture!
