Here are some recent images of a very well known int'l ballet company. Shooting conditions were mixed, but all handheld, & mostly manual, spot metered, 1.8 - 4.0, 1/160 or slower with a EF-85 1.8, ISO 400 or 800, RAW.

An interesting & relevant discussion about working with stage lighting, metering for dance here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=587375&highlight=dance&page=2). I found that it's far easiest to shoot manual, and use the spot meter as needed. I'd have more usable images if I used higher ISO. Often I look at the image more with a painters eye - I've also spent time as a lighting designer, sometimes shooting to document lighting/stage, but sometimes that all gets tossed out of the window.

C&C welcome.

speaking of painting, this one during tech rehearsal this reminds me of Goya or something.

4 and 5 are ok, the rest just doesn't do anything for me.

Like #1 (should have framed a bit higher), 2 (nice expression, could benefit from a tighter crop) and last (maybe straighten a bit).
