any idea what this is?

Went to a Nature center a couple of weeks ago to go hiking and this was in the bottom of a shallow creek. I thought maybe they were eggs of some sort.

looks like an egg from some kind of amphibian. The black speck visible inside the egg and under the flash high-light would be the embryo.
