There is a botanic garden near where I live but I have been holding off taking any shots there. I am not inspired by the idea of taking pictures of flowers. I haven't seen much flower shots that compel me to try to capture that particular style. I am a birder and I know what to look for in a bird shot. What do you look for in a flower shot?

Thanks.

Get down to the level of the flower. Standing up and shooting down at the flower is the same view everyone sees so it tends to make the shot boring to most. Up close and if possible, macro is always good.

Don't goof up like me and make the DOF too shallow. :D
