I am overwhelmed with all the available cameras. I have decided to purchase a Canon, but don't know which is best. I would appreciate any input. I have looked at the SD960, SD880, SD990 to name a few. I would like to stay in the $300-350 range. Thanks for any help you might give me.

I read some reviews and everything leads to the Canon SD1100 IS for a compact camera to travel with or just throw in your pcoket.
One prof. photographer who gave up all his DSLR cameras and equipment recommended the two cameras to have which he now owns. The SX10 IS which is the closest to a DSLR and the SD1100 IS which is compact for travel.
I have an SX10 on the way and am purchasing the SD1100 IS for a friend.
Check amazon for reviews! JMO Good luck!

I have the SD1100, and as far as a compact digital that fits in your pocket goes, I couldn't be happier. Performs quite well, and it's small enough to throw in your pocket/purse for travelling, or just to always have a camera on you.

I've had my SD1100 IS for almost a year, and it has been a fantastic performer. Even does a really good job shooting video!

My wife has the SD880IS and is very pleased with it. It is a good all around performer.

I would go with the SD880IS. Nice camera.

The 960 is the way to go. 28mm wide angle, big 2.8" screen, HD video. What more could you need? If you don't want HD video, the SD880 is a very nice camera, too, although not much cheaper.
