Longevity for an iMac?

So, I guess I am going with a 24" iMac, I am just wondering
about the longevity? Anyone care to chime in?
I know the Mac Pro's last, but not sure about the iMac.

I haven't heard of any issues with them. I'd say that they are no more prone to breakdown than any other computer.

I've had a 24" iMac for just on 2 years now, never had a problem with it. I extended the Apple Care package just in case though ;)

well it matters on the following: How much you spend and what you get... If your computer is so advanced, it's going to last you longer than an average sub 800 dollar computer.

i usually upgrade my macs and pcs every 3 years as technology improves and system requirements demand more out of your computer.

i just "invested" in a core i7 920 computer, and i hope that it will last me 5 years with minimal maintenance and hardware upgrades (hard drives, ram and video cards, power supply)

They are probably one of the most reliable computers ever made.
Like anything made with high quality parts they sould run for a long time.

Altough I did use on the other day that didn't so much eject a CD, as try and throw it across the room.

iMacs are workhorses. They go forever!
Had a entire campus at my old workplace running the original coloured ones and after 6 plus years they were still going strong!

Hehe - I know all about that Moppie!

I have a 2004 17inch iMac G5 that spits discs miles. I just position a thick book with its open pages towards the disc slot and it catches them really well:)
