I found these guys building a jump and asked if I could shoot them with a Canon. They were going fourty feet in the air over a road, going off the jump backwards. Perfect landing every time.

The first shot was just to show how high they are going. I like the close ups best. I set the depth of field so it blured all but him and the trees, makes him look crisp and clear.

Wow, nice shots! I really like both ... the first one does an excellent job of giving the scene some scale.

"Mt Maker?.... Mt Baker maybe."
Its Mt Baker Ski resort. The mountain in the shot is Mt Shuksan, to be exact. This time of year the road is closed to the look out of Mt Baker. In fact they are jumping over that road.
Extreme photography ? It sounds great but most of my shots are of nature and thats not so extreme.

Great shots. I'd PS him a red parka in the 1st shot to make him pop out more.

We have built that jump in the past, Bakers pretty good for helping with snowmobile access for after season jump building. For this kind of photography you really have to show the take off and the landing of the jump.

I have not spent a lot of time up there but, if I had the chance to do it again I would shoot it vertical, so it would show the distance to the road below him. The guy filming it said the same thing, but I couldn't help it, I had to zoom in to get that second shot. I have some showing it all but you almost can't see the skier. I had no choice in his clothing, green and white is not a good combo for that shot for sure.

I really, reallylike the tight crop. It looks like he has his tongue out like little kids to when they are concentrating. Very cool shot.
