Kind of odd that it's floating and you can see through the lens. Not necesarily bad odd...just odd. :D Could also use a bit more highlights, especially since it's all black. The dials, switches, etc sort of all blend together.

Good subject though...take more shots. :)

How many megapixel was this one? Did it have live-view? CF or SD? (And so on...) :D

Put a roll of film in it and take pictures WITH the camera, not OF the camera:-) The AE-1 was my first SLR camera and I still have it and it performs just as on day one. I use it for IR photography. Every time I pick it up it puts a smile on my face - mine is silver though, as most of them were back then. Great camera.

Great shot! I've got a "black body" AE-1 just like that -- it was my first SLR camera, and it still works like a champ. :D

Yeah, this one still works. It's my backup. It's what got me interested in photography many years ago.
