Doesn't he look like real pro?
Spotted him in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.

I think this is a great photo, whether he looks like a pro or not... Such concentration.... You caught it just right.

He's shooting "goofy-eyed." My son shoots this way. I've been trying it out for more stability at longer focal lengths.

Great capture. I bet this would look good in black and white too.

What does that mean?

Left eyed. Like left footed skaters are goofy-foot, then left eye photographers must be goofy-eyed.

Oh is that what it means? I thought you meant the way he shuts his right eye hard. I am goofy eyed then, I use my left eye too. Don't we all? I never really gave it much thought. Maybe we need a poll to find out..... I'm right handed by the way, if that's of any interest.

How 'bout a seasoned photographer with a seasoned camera.

I like the picture. What was he taking a picture of?

That lens looks exactly like the Tokina K-Mount 70-210 f/4-5.6 I recently bought for my Pentax K1000 for $27...

I am naturally right eyed, but have been experimenting with left eye technique. It seems I can reduce camera shake this way. You are at an advantage here.

I guess that makes me goofy eyed then too. I am also left handed - but only for writing and cleaning peoples teeth (I am a dental hygienist) - I play all sports right handed. I guess when it comes right down to it I am pretty messed up :)

He has a motor winder, he uses a lens hood...

Looks experienced.

Hahaha sweet. I'm surprised so many people don't know what goofy eyed means. Then again, I only know because I've been snowboarding goofy footed since I was a wee lil one.

He was shooting drummers and other instrument players that gather every weekend in GG park.
Couple of examples below.

How can you tell? He has the camera rotated in portrait orientation. That's the prism pointing toward you.

The proper term for people that play instruments other than drums is "musicians"

That musician in the second pic looks like he's playing a didgeridoo.

Well, you may want to hear them playing first. Musicians ( in my opinion )
have at least decent ability to play instruments. If you are so picky about proper terms, I would call them " joint inspired instrument owners".
Anyway, I didn't know that drum players are not considered musicians.

I play drums and percussion. Percussionists are musicians. Drummers are that weird guy that hangs out with musicians...

Nice shot. I like it.

I am goofy eyed too and right handed... Interesting!
