Does anyone know when the JrX will be out? No news of them for quite some time now.
When it was last announced, they said May. We are well into June now.

I love how we have waited a ridiculous amount of time for this and they raise the prices of the units

Pricing is basically same as cybersyncs now, except you have to pay more to get it to work with the alienbee strobes.

Not clear to me about the Jrx Rx studio version. How does it control power of my AB lights and hot shoe flash? When they hot shoe flash I assume canon or nikon, isn't it? What is that cube thingy that I would need which will be available 6-8 weeks from now?

It uses the Quench pin on any TTL flash to control power. The open source triggers had support for this early this year, so they shouldn't be able to patent it... :-P
You'll also have to buy the RPCube which doesn't have a price and will ship in 6-8 weeks but they didn't say which year ;-)

David Hobby tweeted recently that he had finished some tests with the JrX so it can't be long now! Expect to see some results over at strobist.com

I'm curious if the JRX transmitter is capable of adjusting output power on Canon Speedight mounted with PX Receivers? Or do I have to purchase the JRX Studio Receiver version for that? :(
I currently have four PX receivers and want to use the JRX transmitter for its lightweight and portability.

Crap, another thing to save for? ;)
The piano keys seem to have improved. A far more streamlined design.

where did you hear that? The last thing I've heard about range is 1500ft but that was way back when.

I mean we don't have a clear confirmation yet as to the maximum range. 300ft is a tad low, the cybersyncs can do more than that.

The JrX transmitter wouldn't be able to adjust output of px receivers. You would need the jrx transmitter with jrx studio receiver with rp cube which hasn't been released yet.

I wonder what the pricing on this so called cube is going to be.

Actually, straight from the compatability guide:
"The X system has been designed with scalability
in mind. There are many possible combinations
of units to control a given lighting task.
Particularly useful is the mixing of PX Receiver
units, JrX Receiver Standard units, and JrX
Receiver Studio units - all in the same shot. This
combination may for example by controlled by
a JrX Transmitter, and is pictured in the graphic
below (Fig 1).
In this example, an SB-800 is controlled by
the first manual adjustment dial on the JrX
Transmitter. The second and third manual
adjustment dials each control a single AB-800
studio unit. A JrX Receiver Standard unit
activates a stand alone manual flash strobe
which has been set manually."
It seems to me that the RPCube is only for non-Px-supported flashes, such as an old Canon 220 or Sigma DG500 Super.
