I have just read today where the Canon EOS 300D has a shutter life of 10,000 clicks and the Canon EOS D1s 200,000 clicks (If your in sports photography the life span would not last long) has anyone came accross this problem.

The 300D would be more in the range of 50,000 shutter actuations. The mark II 1D series cameras do have a shutter life of 200,000 actuations. That's why they cost so much.
